Dallas beaten by Southwestern

Georgetown, TX - The University of Dallas women's lacrosse team lost their conference matchup against Southwestern University on Sunday, April 10.

The Pirates opened up the game quickly, scoring within the first minute of the game to take the lead.  Southwestern put double digits on the scoreboard at 3:42 left in the first quarter, and ended the quarter after adding one more.  Southwestern continued to dominate the game scoring another six goals in the second period.

UD finally got on the board early in the third as Teagan Walsh scored a goal off a free position while the team was a player up.  The goal was Walsh's team second best 13th goal of the year.

Dallas second goal of the game came with 3:53 in the third quarter as team leading scorer Sophia Haeuser put one in the net unassisted.  The goal was Haeuser's 15th of the season.

In the fourth, Southwestern added another six goals to reach the game's final score of 26-2.

Walsh led UD with three groundballs.  Gabby Dixon, Angela Bawardi, and Kathleen Rodda each had two groundballs apiece.

With the loss UD drops to 1-8 (0-1), and with the win Southwestern improves to 12-1 (1-0).  The Crusaders continue their road trip with their final regular seasons games on Thursday, April 14 and Saturday, April 16 against Converse University and Oglethorpe University.  Game times are at 5:00 PM and 12:00 PM Central.
