UD Women's Lacrosse Drops Road Match at Ottawa on Saturday

OTTAWA, Kan. – The University of Dallas women's lacrosse team concluded the month of March with a 23-1 setback at Ottawa University in the team's first away match. A 15-0 halftime deficit was too much for the young Crusaders to overcome.

Gabby Dixon (San Diego, Calif.) has been the leader in ground balls the first two matches and was again Saturday night with five. This time she also put in her first career goal to keep UD from being shutout.

Emily Pauletti (Dallas, Texas) took five shots and had four on cage. The team took seven total and placed five on cage.

The Braves logged 38 shots, with 31 on frame and picked up 32 ground balls. Shannon Carroll had a game-high 10 ground balls. Cecily Anderson led the draw controls with 10 of them. A trio of players combined for 12 goals with four apiece. Ashlee Weger, Katherine Ketter, and Quinn Crandallall formed the unit, and two other players had hat tricks with Mackenzie Simmons and Anderson being part of the scoring blitz.

Kathleen Rodda had eight saves in 60 minutes in the cage. Mya Chatelin and Alyssa Jenne each split 30 minute halves. Chatelin had three saves, while Jenne stopped one of her two shots faced.

Dallas is home next time out with 2019 SCAC Tournament Champion Colorado College coming out on April 11.
