Women's Lacrosse Returns to Colorado for SCAC Tournament (4/27-4/28)
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Dallas women's lacrosse team will play in its first Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Tournament on Saturday, April 27, against Southwestern University at host Colorado College. The match is slated to begin at 2 p.m. (MDT) and 3 p.m. (CST).
Dallas took the three-seed after defeating Johnson & Wales University last weekend in Aurora, Colorado, by a final of 15-12. This improved the team's record to 3-9 and snapped a five-game slide. Southwestern University sits 6-5 overall and is the second-seed.
Host Colorado College notched the top-seed after going 15-1 this season and enters No. 21 in the nation after opening the season with a program-best 14-game winning streak. It will be a battle between teams in the Rocky Mountain State with Johnson & Wales rounding out the bracket as the fourth seed with a 2-12 record. Those teams will open the tournament on Saturday at 11 a.m. (MDT).

MATCH NOTABLES

- Lexi Leite (Houston, Texas) led the SCAC in the regular season with a career-high 52 goals. She ranks second all-time in the program in goals (152) and points (174).
- Erika Keever (Fort Worth, Texas) eclipsed 20 goals for a third straight season and now has a personal-best 28. Her five assists are also a personal-high and led to 33 points, which also marked a new career-most.
- Keever ranks third in the program with 102 draw controls. She is only the third player in the program in triple digits for that category. As a team, UD has achieved 174 draw controls.
- Alex Parkey (Henrietta, Texas) set the draw controls program record in a single-match versus Oglethorpe University with 22 this spring. She leads the team with 45 on the spring. Mason Cosgrove (Las Cruces, N.M.) is tied with Keever for second on the squad with 38 this season. Sarah Gamble (Allen, Texas) adds 23.
- Cosgrove has garnered team-highs in ground balls (43) and caused turnovers (17) this season. Ella Pedrozo (Austin, Texas) and Leite are also within double-digits for caused turnovers with 13 apiece.
- Jordyn Buell (Murrieta, Calif.) has made the past three starts in goal. Overall in four appearances, she has logged 37 saves in 218:50 minutes to go with an 18.37 goals-against average.
- Head coach Destinee Johnson is in her third season leading the Crusaders.
- The Dallas roster features 15 players, with three newcomers from a year ago. Three players on the roster: Gamble, Pedrozo, and Cosgrove have experience with the UD women's soccer program of reaching a SCAC Tournament.

- The Pirates dropped their last two matches of the season by 18-16 finals. Their most recent match was the 13th for the lone contest of the month.
- SU is 1-1 in neutral site games, which came at UD's women's lacrosse field the first two games of the season. The Pirates edged Dallas 21-10 to keep their unbeaten streak at six straight all-time.
- Hayley Donnelly is the team leader in goals (41) and assists (40) for an overall best on the Pirates in points (81).
- Johnee Wolter, Raven Garcia, and Grace Maynard form a trio of players with at least 30 points at 38, 34, and 33, respectively. Wolter is the next highest scorer with 33 goals. Her 89.9 shots on goal percentage comes from 53-59 shots on target. Garcia is 37-41 (90.2) in shots on goal.
- Southwestern as a group is shooting 81.9 shots on goal percentage.
- Maynard leads the defense with 27 caused turnovers and has a team-high 29 ground balls. She also is the team leader in draw controls with 37. Donnelly has hustled for 28 ground balls.
- Mckenna Zinke has played the most minutes in goal with 536:30. She has accumulated 83 saves and has a 12.53 goals-against average.
REGULAR SEASON MATCH
- Dallas trailed 16-6 at halftime and could not close the gap in a setback in Irving on March 2.
- Leite and Emily Pauletti (Dallas, Texas) led UD with hat-tricks (3 goals apiece). Camryn Dougherty (Drayden, Md.) added two goals, while Keever chipped in two assists and a netter.
- Southwestern was led by Donnelly's seven points off four assists and three goals. Maynard, Garcia, and Wolter had team-highs in goals with four each.
