Crusaders toppled by Dasch; Warriors on Sunday

CONWAY, Ark. – The University of Dallas women's lacrosse team fell 20-9 at Hendrix College on Sunday. A 14-3 halftime score lifted the Warriors (4-5) past Dallas, who dropped its second match in a row.

Alison Watanabe got the Warriors on the board quickly with two goals in the opening minute and would have one of the team's three hat tricks on the match. Morgan Dasch notched her only two assists during the first three-goal stretch for Hendrix. She turned to scoring in the back of the cage with a game-high 11 goals. Dasch posted six ground balls and nine draw controls, which both were game-bests.

Both sides had four scoring contributors, but the Warriors' Dasch outscored UD with her standalone performance.

After allowing a five-goal deficit, Lexi Leite (Houston, Texas) broke the run with a goal at 23:44. Emily Pauletti (Dallas, Texas) scored on a free position to make it 7-2 with 18:07 left in the frame. Erika Keever (Fort Worth, Texas) claimed the other scoring play for Dallas that half with a free position goal with just over 10 minutes.

Dasch took over after that goal by Keever made it 10-3, as she poured the last four goals in. Watanabe assisted her first two in that quartet mentioned, as she dished six helpers to give her nine points behind Dash's 13.

The teams matched each other with six goals in the second half, with the Crusaders notching three of the last four in the last six minutes. Mason Cosgrove (Las Cruces, N.M.) posted her only goal of the game at the 5:47 on the free position. Leite drilled her third goal at 4:19 and then Erika Keever (Fort Worth, Texas) matched Leite's three-goal team-high score on the free position with 35 ticks left on the clock.

Keever won eight draw controls, while Cosgrove contributed four. Dallas actually slightly edged the Warriors in shot attempts (30-29), but were outdone on shots on goal (26-19). Hendrix also held the advantage on ground balls 22-15.

Dallas was a perfect 11-for-11 on clear attempts and committed fewer turnovers, 18-14.

Alexis Truitt (4-5) made 10 saves against 19 shots faced in a complete game at goalkeeper.
