Point University gets past Crusaders on Saturday

WEST POINT, Ga. - The University of Dallas women's lacrosse team fell 19-4 in its first road game of the season. Lexi Leite (Houston, Texas) put the Crusaders (2-2) on top with an early goal less than a minute into play.

However, the Seahawks (4-2) responded with 15 goals in the first half to go up by 14 at intermission. A goal with less than a minute gone past in the second half, is when the next UD goal was tallied. Point University also tallied a 27-10 edge that half on shot attempts. The Crusaders were forced into 26 turnovers on the game while Point lost the possession 17 times. Both teams were even with 12 draw controls. 

Leite scored two goals to lead the Crusaders. Camryn Dougherty (Drayden, Md.) and Erika Keever (Fort Worth, Texas) scored the other Dallas goals. Both teams had 12 draw controls. 

Alex Parkey (Henrietta, Texas) picked up six draw controls and eight ground balls to lead UD. Sarah Gamble (Allen, Texas) earned five draw controls. Lizz Winkler (St. Charles, Ill.) made seven saves in the goal for Dallas. 

Point had four players with at least three goals, led by Alexandra Millican with five goals and assists for 10 poins. Amanda Dalton, Anne Jarrett, and Bethany Mullins all had a hattrick.  Walker made eight saves in 30 minutes, while Emma Gross got five saves in the other 30 minutes.
