Women's Lacrosse edged in Finale of Home Stretch

IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas women's lacrosse team capped its stretch of three matches in four days this week with a 19-6 setback to Hendrix College. Lexi Leite (Houston, Texas) poured a season-high four goals for the Crusaders and surpassed 100 points for the junior's career.

Leite got UD on the board at 27:27 in the first half to nip a two-goal deficit in half. The Warriors responded by rattling off six straight goals over a five-minute span to gain control of the momentum. Leite netted her second goal of the match on a free position shot to end the streak.

It was too much offense for Hendrix, as the visitors went on to push the advantage to 13-4 by the end of the half.

Erika Keever (Fort Worth) recorded the other two goals for Dallas. She assisted Leite on a goal at 5:01 that netted the new team's leading scorer a hat trick for her 100th career point. Leite was a perfect 8-for-8 in shots on goal. Keever followed with six shots and landed five on target.

Morgan Dasch and Kaitlyn Smith led the Warriors with five goals apiece. Reilly Frazier and Shelby Hill each dished three assists to go along with a couple other scores that helped the duo finish with five and four points, respectively.

Hendrix used a 25-12 shot advantage in the first half. The guests were 25-of-25 on clears. UD did produce a 19-10 lead in groundballs.
