Women's Lacrosse clips Eagles, defeats College of St. Elizabeth (N.J.) by 10 goals

MORRISTOWN, N.J. - The University of Dallas women's lacrosse team (4-10) faced the College of St. Elizabeth (N.J.) in the first contest of a two-game road trip, clipping the Eagles, 15-5, on Friday afternoon.

The Lady Crusaders controlled the ball for most of the game, winning 80-percent of the draw controls. Sophomore attack Mary Salotto (Salt Lake City, Utah/Skyline H.S.) led the scoring for UD, with six goals and an assist; she also had three ground balls and four draw controls. Senior midfielder Christine McFarland (Floral Park, N.Y./Floral Park H.S.) played a solid game as well, winning seven draw controls, scoring two goals and coming up with three ground balls.

Meanwhile, junior attack Becky Williams (Lyman, S.C./Marianapolis Prep) and freshman attack Celina Gonzalez (Spring, Texas/Klein H.S.) had one goal apiece, with Gonzalez also adding an assist.

Junior midfielder Katherine Dautenhahn (Tulsa, Okla./Tulsa School of Arts & Science) tallied three goals, while senior defense Meghan Frost (Bandera, Texas/Northshore H.S.) added two goals, two assists, two ground balls and one draw control of her own.

Freshman Samantha Mason (Elgin, Texas/Elgin H.S.) was Dallas' goalkeeper for the game, and she recorded six saves from eleven shots on goal.

Dallas will take a travel day and head to Baltimore, Md., where they'll face the College of Notre Dame of Maryland on Sunday at 12 p.m. CDT/1:00 p.m. EDT.
