Burch Takes Second, Crusaders Take Fourth in The Battle at Brownwood

BROWNWOOD, Texas - The University of Dallas women's golf team concluded play in The Battle at Brownwood on Saturday. The Crusaders finished in fourth place in the field of five teams with a two-round score of 677 (+101). Dallas led the field in Par 3 scoring with a 3.59 average (+19), was second in Par 4's with a 4.79 average (+57), and second in Par 5's with a 5.59 average (+19).
Mary Hardin-Baylor won the tournament with a two-round score of 619 (+43), finishing 23 strokes ahead of runners-up LeTourneau University.
Sara Kmiecik of Mary Hardin-Baylor maintained and built up on her day one lead to win the individual title with a score of 147 (+3).
After ending day one tied for second place, Kimberly Burch (pictured) ended day two in sole possession of second after firing a 78 in round two, finishing +10 for the tournament. Burch was third in Par 3's with a 3.25 average (+2), fifth in Par 4's at +8, and fourth in Par 5's at an even par.
Lauren Waltzer made a big jump with a round two score of 83, climbing seven spots to finish 18th at +25. Clair Kirby finished 24th at +31, and Gabby Ramirez finished T25 at +35.
