Kirby Sits in a Tie for 11th After Day One of SCAC Preview

BLANCO, Texas – The University of Dallas women's golf team completed the first round of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Preview at the Vaaler Creek Golf Club hosted by Texas Lutheran University on Monday. Dallas kicked off the spring slate with some solid scores after the completion of 18 holes. Claire Kirby (Lubbock, Texas) leads the trio of Crusaders with a career-best score of 84 which places her in a tie for 11th place.

Kaylei Richardson (Vega, Texas) shot an 89 on day one and sits in a tie for 21st place. Emma Christensen (West Haven, Utah) carded a 107 in round one. Richardson and Kirby posted 4.80 average on Par 4 holes on the day.  Kirby also posted the best Par 5 scoring for Dallas with a mark of 4.75 (-1). Kirby notched two birdies and seven pars on the round, while Richardson also matched here teammate with seven pars on the day.

Trinity University leads the tournament with a combined score of 362. Southwestern University is right on the Tigers heels with a score of 327, while the newest member of the (SCAC), the University of St. Thomas, sits in third place with a 359. Schreiner University and Johnson & Wales University (CO) round out the team scores with a 360, and 656, respectively.

Madison Goldberg of Southwestern University and Raquel Hill from Trinity University are tied for the lead with a 78 on the Par 72 course.
