OPENING REMARKS
The University of Dallas women's golf team is set to begin the 2020 portion of its schedule as the Crusaders will compete at the SCAC Preview meet at Vaaler Creek Golf Club in Blanco, Texas. Dallas will get a look at all of the conference teams on the course that will host the 2020 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championships on April 20-21.
SEASON PREVIEW
The Crusaders played in four tournaments this past fall. UD placed 10th at the Lady Bulldog Fall Classic to open the fall season. Dallas then finished ninth at the Rockwind Links Intercollegiate on September 15th-16th. To close out September and begin October (Sept. 30 – Oct. 1) the Crusaders competed at the UMHB Fall Invite and placed ninth. Dallas wrapped up the fall schedule with an eighth place finish at the Alamo City Classic on October 15th-16th. UD begins competition next week and then turns its attention to three more major events this year.
Kirby led the Crusaders with an average score of 95.38 in eight rounds in the fall. Kirby made her best finish at the Alamo Classic (33rd). Richardson notched an average score of 98.25 in eight rounds last fall. Richardson finished 37th at Alamo Classic to wrap up the fall season on a strong note. Christensen also finished out strong in the fall with a 36th place finish at the Alamo Classic. Christensen secured an average score of 105.63 in eight rounds of play.
ROSTER OUTLOOK
Dallas will have three golfers competing this spring. Emma Christensen (West Haven, Utah), Claire Kirby (Lubbock, Texas), and Kaylei Richardson (Vega, Texas) will be the trio on the links. Tiffany Han (Walnut, Calif.) will not be competing this spring as she will be studying in Rome this semester.
