UD Women's Golf Releases Fall 2019 Tournaments

IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas women's golf team had its 2019 fall schedule released by head coach Garrett Smith for the 2019-20 year. Smith enters his fourth year at UD, having overseen the men's golf program. In 2018-19, Smith had an individual competitor, Tiffany Han (Walnut, Calif.), compete on the women's side on the links in its first year sponsored as an NCAA Division III sport.

Smith has the men's and women's teams set to compete at three of the same competitions this fall, with the opener on September 9-10 at the John Bohmann Memorial Invitational at Starke Park. The tournament will be hosted by fellow Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) opponent Texas Lutheran University.

Less than a week later, the Crusaders will be at the Rockwind Links Intercollegiate hosted by McMurry University.

The one disparity between the men's and women's schedules will be the UMHB Fall Invite at Squaw Valley Golf Club in Glen Rose, Texas). The men's team is at the Rhodes Fall Collegiate the week prior so Smith will have the women's team at this competition on Sept. 30 and October 1.

The fall season wraps up with the Alamo City Classic on Oct. 14-15, hosted by another SCAC foe Trinity University.

The SCAC Championship will be at Vaaler Creek Golf Club in April, as the Dallas women's golf program seeks its inaugural debut. Six other schools are in the field with Southwestern University, Schreiner University, Centenary College, Johnson & Wales University, Texas Lutheran, and Trinity. The remainder of the spring season schedule will be released at a later time, as information becomes finalized.
