SEGUIN, Texas - The University of Dallas women's basketball team lost their conference match with Texas Lutheran 85-52 on Friday. Their record slips to 7-9 on the year and 3-5 in conference play.
Neither team was at their best in the first quarter, but the Crusaders did enough early on to hold onto a narrow lead after five minutes. But while the Bulldogs were finding some rhythm to close out the period, Dallas had lost theirs, going 1-of-7 in the final four minutes to fall behind 14-9.
The second period was a back and forth battle, but Dallas were unable to cut into the deficit. The Bulldogs were able to build upon their lead to take a 34-25 advantage into halftime.
The second half saw TLU run away with the game, shooting 66% across the third and fourth quarters going 20-of-30 from the field. Dallas were better finishers than their first half selves, but not productive enough, making just eight field goals in the second half.
Alyssa Sullivan was the only Crusader to score 10 points on the night, going 4-of-7 from the field with two three-pointers.
