Crusasders Battle Hard in Overtime Loss to TLU

IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas women's basketball team lost their conference matchup with Texas Lutheran 82-68 in overtime on Friday evening.  They drop to 5-16 on the season and 2-11 in conference play.

Despite not getting the win, anyone who has followed this team all year and watched tonight's game would likely be in agreement that Crusaders reached new heights tonight.  Oddly enough, it was a remarkably similar game to their first matchup with the Bulldogs, a nail-biter that saw TLU win the game on a buzzer beater and also ranks among the Crusaders finest performances of the season.

Though they were trailing by four points at the half after a bit of cold shooting in the second quarter, the Crusaders went full bore from start to finish, and nearly had the ultimate reward for their efforts.  They kept themselves within arms reach and managed to tie the game twice in the final 90 seconds of regulation.  But the Crusaders simply ran out of gas in the overtime period, and what was once a close game saw the Bulldogs slip away with a final score that is all too misleading and not at all indicative of the monumental effort put forth by the Dallas players.

Adryan Alvarez led the Crusaders with 19 points in 28 minutes off the bench, going 3-4 from beyond the arc.  Canai McPherson was right behind with 17 points, Alyssa Sullivan notched 12 points and led the team with six assists, and Imani Hardin grabbed 10 rebounds for the ninth time this season, sitting in second place on the conference leaderboards.
