Crusaders Pickup Basketball at Colorado College After Break

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Dallas women's basketball team embarks on a long road trip to Colorado for its final doubleheader weekend of the regular season. The Crusaders (3-5, 3-5 SCAC) are playing on Saturday and Sunday at 3 p.m. (MST) and 12 p.m. (MST) on respective dates.

The Crusaders are coming off a two-week break after weather cancelled its home twinbill with Southwestern University and then had a bye week.

Dallas is coming off a 54-52 victory at the beginning of the month at Schreiner University. UD has won three-of-four games after starting out on a four-game losing streak.

Camille Fowler (Helotes, Texas) leads the Crusaders with 11.3 points-per-game. Amber Turner (Rogers, Ark.) is the team leader in total points with more than Fowler with 79. Turner has also led the team in assists (24) and steals (16). Fowler trails by one in those categories too. Also keep an eye out for Alyssa Sullivan (Wylie, Texas) with 76 points. Imani Hardin (Helotes, Texas) is the leader in rebounds with 67.

Colorado College (5-1, 5-1 SCAC) enters the last weekend with just six games played on the year and two at home, where they split with Southwestern. A quartet of players are averaging double figures in scoring and have eclipsed 60 points led by McKenzee Gertz with 82 (13.7). She is also the leader in rebounds with 54. Rosie Braley is right behind with 53.

Earlier this week, the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) announced a change to its traditional conference tournament format. Instead of the round robin at one location, there will be play over three weekends in the next month.

First round play will be conducted the weekend of March 5-7, semifinals are scheduled for March 12-14 and the men's and women's championship will occur the weekend of March 19-21. The top four seeds will host first round games on both the men's and women's side, and the top remaining seeds will host semifinal and championship rounds.
