FIRST TIP

The University of Dallas women's basketball team is coming off consecutive losses to begin its conference part of play. The last outing included a setback to Austin College. The Crusaders (0-9, 0-2 SCAC) will look to bounce back in Colorado. UD will first play at Colorado College on Saturday (12/29) at 1 p.m. (MST). The next day Dallas will travel to Denver to take on Johnson & Wales University at 12 p.m. (MST).


THREE THINGS TO KNOW FOR UD

- Faith Starnes (Bryan, Texas) has scored double-digit points in six games this season, including the past three contests. Starnes is averaging 10.5 points-per-game.

- In conference games, Dallas is holding opponents to a 41.7 field goal percentage.

- Dallas is grabbing 37.3 rebounds-per-game, including 13.1 on offense versus conference opponents.

- Dallas holds a 14-12 advantage all-time versus CC. The Tigers won both meetings last year including a 63-57 win in Colorado Springs on February 17th.

- McKenzee Gertz ranks second among Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference players averaging 16.5 points-per-game.

- Jordan Meltzer has a 46.9 three-point percentage, which is good enough for third-best in the SCAC.

- CC is outscoring opponents 219-167 in the first quarter.

(Johnson & Wales University)

- The Wildcats (0-8, 0-3 SCAC) are coming off an 88-45 loss to Southwestern University.

- Brianna Bailey leads JWU with 15.7 points-per-game.

- JWU will play Schreiner University on Saturday (12/29) before taking on Dallas.
