DeCoud named USCAA First-Team All-American

UNIONTOWN, Pa. – The United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) released the Women's Division I Basketball All-Americans. Michelle DeCoud (Monument, Colo.) was selected for one of the 10 spots on the First-Team. It is her third consecutive year to receive the honor, but is first time to make be named a First-Team All-American. In 2015-16 she made Honorable Mention and then in 2016-17 she was listed on Second-Team All-American.

DeCoud averaged a career-high 17.2 points to rank fourth in the USCAA individual offensive leaders rankings. She also cracked the top-10 in the league for rebounds-per-game (9.2) with a tie for seventh. She shot 46.9 percent from the field her senior season to tie for 13th. DeCoud received Player of the Week during the week ending on November 26th. She is a two-time USCAA Player of the Week winner.

DeCoud boasted great numbers her final year with the University of Dallas women's basketball team, as she etched her name near the top of several records. DeCoud became the 14th player in program history to reach above 1,000 career points on December 2nd versus Johnson & Wales University (CO). She was also the 8th player to surpass 1,000 points and 500 rebounds in her career.

Eventually, the forward shattered the career blocks record and ended with 134 for the new mark. DeCoud finished 2nd in total field goals (544), 2nd in rebounds (844), and 5th in points (1,337). DeCoud also maintained her career record set in 2016-17 for field goals, as she wrapped up her percentage with a 48.5-clip.

Another postseason accolade Michelle received for her performance this season was First-Team All-SCAC.
