FIRST TIP
The University of Dallas women's basketball team returns to the Maher Center this weekend and will play three times in four days. The Crusaders (4-3) start the busy stretch on Saturday versus Colorado College in the first Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) game of the season. Tip-off is down at 3 p.m. following the men's tilt. The next day, UD hosts Rhodes College at 3 p.m. and then rematches against Hendrix College on December 19th in a 5:30 p.m. tip.
Dallas is on a four-game home stretch to end the month and are 3-0 at the Maher Center this season. The Crusaders fell in overtime at Dallas Christian College, 77-76, in the most recent outing. Prior to that, Dallas etched a pair of wins at home against University of the Ozarks and Johnson & Wales University (CO). UD has the second best record in the conference coming into play.
DECOUD MOVING UP THE UD RECORD RANKS
Michelle DeCoud (Monument, Colo.) has been accumulating positive numbers early in her senior season. She recently became the 14th player to break 1,000 career points in a win against Johnson & Wales on Dec. 2nd. Additionally, DeCoud is the 8th player to reach that milestone and also have surpassed 500 career rebounds.
DeCoud enters this weekend with 1,030 points and is 12th in the program. She is also fifth in made field goals (423) and jumped to 16th in made free throws (181). DeCoud was 10th and 19th in those respective categories at the start of the year. The senior forward also recently became the 21st player to achieve over 100 steals and 22nd player to dish at least 100 assists. DeCoud respectively holds 104 and 101.

UD NOTABLES
- DeCoud is the top scorer on the team with 17.7 points-per-game. She is the lone Crusader over triple-digits with 124 total points. DeCoud's scoring average ranks third in the SCAC and fourth in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA).
- DeCoud is the leader in the SCAC for rebounds-per-game (9.3). Her 65 individuals lead the squad, which has outdone the opposition 316-298 on the year.
- Helen Onyenso (Oak Park, Ill.) checks in second for rebounds (37), and has claimed 24 on the offensive glass. The senior is averaging 11.9 points.
- Celsi Caraway (Arlington, Texas) rounds out the top three scorers with 11.3 ppg. Her 24 points marked a career-high last time UD played in the Maher Center.
- The Crusaders are outscoring their opponents 120-102 in the third quarter this season. It is their highest scoring quarter overall.

- The Crusaders are 14-10 all-time versus Colorado College, and have won the past five meetings at the Maher Center dating back to 2012-13.
- UD split the regular season last year with the home team winning each time. Dallas prevailed 71-63 on "Senior Day." DeCoud put in 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds.
- The Crusaders are 2-8 overall against Rhodes College. These programs last met 2011-12 in Irving. The Lynx won 66-55.

- Casey Torbet leads the offense with 117 points and is averaging 13.0. McKenzee Gertz follows the top scorer with 103 points and has tossed in 11.4 ppg. Gertz holds a team-high 69 rebounds.
- Torbet leads all players in assists (21) and steals (15). Jade Odom has passed 19 dimes, while also swiping 13 steals. Gertz follows with 12 steals to complete the top three.
- CC has outdone its opposition by one in total steals 84-83.

- The Lynx come into play at 5-2. They fell last Thursday to NCAA Division I University of Tennessee at Martin. Prior to that, Rhodes had a four-game winning streak.
- Rhodes plays a couple SCAC teams this weekend, with a road matchup at Austin College on Saturday before heading down to Irving.
- Alyssa Owens paces the offense with 106 points (15.1 ppg).
- Allie Young and Lindsey Whiteside are also averaging double-digits with 11.7 and 11.4 ppg, respectively.
- Six players have garnered at least 20 rebounds to contribute to the Lynxs' 313. Whiteside is the top person with 47. Young follows with 42 while Owens and Moriah Muhammad each have brought down 38.
- Owens (20) and Whiteside (19) lead the team in assists, with no other player eclipsing double-digits.
(Hendrix College)
- The Warriors have won their last six games and are 7-1 on the season. They are on a nice break after topping Agnes Scott (77-62) and Maryville (TN) (69-58) a few days into the month.
- HC will not play another game until next Tuesday's second meeting in about a month's time with Dallas.
- Hendrix is familiar with the SCAC, having played five games against conference foes already and going 4-1. Besides the lone matchup with the Crusaders; Hendrix swept Centenary twice and split with Austin College.
- The Warriors are scoring 69.4 ppg. Madison Martin leads the way with a 13.4 average. Leah Boehl, Vinessa Daniel, and Leah Smith are all close-by each other in total points with 74, 73, and 71, respectively.
- A pair of players are above 50 rebounds with Heather Prowse and Martin collecting 56 and 53.
- The team has forced 172 turnovers and made 76 steals.

Dallas concludes the long homestand with Sul Ross State University on Dec. 31st. Tip-off is slated for 2 p.m.
