OPENING TIP

The University of Dallas women's basketball team opens a two-game home stretch this week with University of the Ozarks on Thursday. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m. December 2nd the Crusaders will host Johnson & Wales University at 1 p.m.

Dallas (2-2) split the past weekend road trip up in the Midwest. After defeating Illinois Tech 70-42, the Crusaders were unable to keep up with Concorida Chicago on Sunday. The Crusaders will play six of the next seven contests at the Maher Center. They won 70-45 in their lone home contest this season.


UD NOTABLES

- Michelle DeCoud (Monument, Colo.) has picked up where she ended last season and has led the squad in points all four games. The senior forward ranks second in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) for points-per-game (18.5), rebounds-per-game (9.3), and is fourth in field goal percentage (47.4).

- DeCoud is third in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) in scoring average, and also earned Player of the Week with that league after averaging 18.5 points in three road contests.

- The Crusaders have held opponents to 60.5 points-per-game (ppg) and 34 percent field goals, which rank 2nd in the SCAC for both categories.

- UD has outrebounded opponents by 3.2 a contest, and that ranks second in the league.

- Helen Onyenso (Oak Park, Ill.) is another player that is averaging double figures with a 10.5-clip. She is tied with DeCoud for offensive rebounds with 17 and second overall with 24.

- Aluya is also the top rebounder with 7.6 per game and 61 total.

Dallas plays its lone away contest next month up the road at Dallas Christian College. The second meeting between these teams will begin at 5:30 p.m. After that, the Crusaders open SCAC action with Colorado College on Dec. 16th.
