OPENING TIP

The University of Dallas women's basketball team continues a three-game road trip over the weekend in the Midwest. Dallas will play at Illinois Tech on Saturday at 1 p.m. before traveling to Concordia Chicago the next day for a 2 p.m. tip-off.

The Crusaders (1-1) fell on Tuesday 76-48 at Hendrix College to start the stretch this week away from the Maher Center.


UD NOTABLES

- Michelle DeCoud (Monument, Colo.) leads the Crusaders with 36 points and has paced the team in both contests so far. The senior moved to 15th in the program with 942 points in her career.

- Jules Oliveti (Southlake, Texas) and Celsi Caraway (Arlington, Texas) are tied with 22 points each.  Oiveti eclipsed double figures in each game in her debut season.

- Helen Onyenso (Oak Park, Ill.) and Francesca Weisbruch (Temple, Texas) lead a quartet of players in double-digits for rebounds with 13 each. Onyenso has grabbed nine offensive boards. She is also the leader at the free throw line with 10.

- Dallas and its opponents each have 86 rebounds.

- Both contests have featured several fouls with UD and the opposition being whistled for 51.

A LOOK AT THE OPPONENTS

(Illinois Tech)

- The Scarlett Hawks are 0-3 on the season.

- They fell on Tuesday 64-36 to Milwaukee School of Engineering in IIT's home opener.

- Shannon O'Donnell and Madison Davis combined for 30 points in the last game with O'Donnell pouring in 18. O'Donnell is the only player for the Scarlett Hawks averaging double figures in points with a 15.3-clip.

- Erin Efimoff has 22 rebounds and O'Donnell follows with 20.

- In 2016-17, Illinois Tech went 1-20 overall.


(Concordia University Chicago)

- The Cougars blew past Blackburn College in a 94-58 season-opening victory over a week ago. Their earlier contest this month was an exhibition at Loyola University Chicago.

- Concordia Chicago will open its home slate on Saturday night against Alverno College before UD visits on Sunday. In 2016-17, the Cougars went 8-3 at the friendly confines and had a 15-11 record.

- Sophia Leon scored 21 points to lead the team in the win. Taylor Jacobsen had 17 points and Courtney Lofink contributed 11.

- Crystal Corr led the team in rebounds with seven. Erin Jacobsen dished nine assists.


UPCOMING SCHEDULE

Dallas returns to the Maher Center for two contests next week. On November 30th the Crusaders host University of the Ozarks at 5:30 p.m. The home stretch concludes with Johnson & Wales University (CO) on December 2nd. First tip is at 1 p.m. Six of the next seven contests will be at the friendly confines. The lone road game in that span is at Dallas Christian College up the highway.
