OPENING TIP

The University of Dallas women's basketball team (1-1) is back at the Maher Center on Tuesday with a 5:30 tip-off versus Randall University. This is the second consecutive home contest, and the Crusaders are 1-0 at the friendly confines after a 60-50 victory last Friday over Fontbonne University.

Sammi Tso (Las Vegas, Nev.) scored 10 of her career-high 20 points in the fourth quarter to lift UD in a 22-13 frame. Michelle DeCoud (Monument, Colo.) added 11 points and nine rebounds, and Seana Stoia (Tulsa, Okla.) rounded out the trio of double figure scorers with 10.

Fans can follow UD Athletics Student Assistant, Kevin McGuirk, on the UDCrusader Broadcast starting at 5:20. Play-by-play will be provided at select home women's and men's basketball games this season.

UD NOTABLES

- DeCoud has amassed double-digits in both games this early campaign and is averaging 13.5 points. The forward also leads the squad in rebounds with 28. She was the weekly Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) leader in boards (14.0) and blocks (4.0).

- Tso's career performance lifted her to second in scoring with 22. She ranked atop the SCAC weekly leaderboard with a perfect free throw percentage (6-6).

- Stoia and Celsi Caraway (Arlington, Texas) are right behind at 19 and 18 points, respectively.

- The Crusaders are shooting 34.0 percent through the first pair of games. This includes a 26.3 percentage from three and 73.7 percent at the free throw line.

- UD has won three straight and four of the last five non-conference games at the Maher Center dating back to last year.

UD SEASON STATS

A LOOK AT RANDALL UNIVERSITY

The Saints (3-3) have won their past two games and two-of-three. The most recent triumph was a 60-52 decision over Trinity Baptist College. The team is in the midst of a seven-game road, not counting a road exhibition, which wraps up on November 29 at Barclay College.

Randall University is formerly Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College. The program is affiliated with the National Christian Collegiate Athletic Association (NCCAA).

Randall Roster

Dallas is 4-3 in the all-time series against the Saints. Tuesday's tilt will be the fourth straight season these teams meet. The Crusaders have won two-of-three in the previous span. Last season was the setback for Dallas in 57-54 fashion on the road.

The Crusaders prevailed two years ago at home in an 84-73 final. The home side used a 51-41 opening half to get the win. Tso's previous career scoring performance – prior to Friday's – was in this one with 19 points. DeCoud had 15 and Holly Tonry (Seattle, Wash.) and Lindsey Gendron (Houston, Texas) tallied 12 apiece.

In last season's matchup, nine returners are listed on the roster that appeared in that game. Tonry scored 17 points and Stoia added 10. Caitlyn Worry (Lumberton, Texas) posted nine points – all from three-pointers. For the Saints, Sadie Perry led the team with 16 points. The team held a 45-35 edge in rebounds.

UP NEXT

Dallas will be at the Rhodes College Classic from November 26-27. The Crusaders will take on Rust College first and then Westminster College the final day. Both games are set to begin at 4 p.m.
