OPENING TIP

The University of Dallas women's basketball team will wrap up a season-long, five-game road trip with a pair of Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) matchups on February 5 and 7. The Lady Crusaders will travel to Colorado College first with an 8 p.m. (MTD) start. They finish things on Sunday at Centenary College with a 2 p.m. tip-off.

Dallas moves into these league games with an 8-11 record and 3-6 SCAC mark. The Lady Crusaders are in sixth place of the conference standings. They dropped the previous two contests a weekend ago, with the latest at Schreiner University. That was a 55-49 final.

CRUSADER NOTES

- The team ranks second in the SCAC in scoring defense with 59.6 points-per-game (ppg) allowed. Since top 25 nationally ranked Trinity University netted 82 a few weeks ago, UD has limited the opposition to under 55 points over a five-game span. This included at No. 22 (at the time) Trinity last Friday.

- Dallas is also second in the league for three-point field goal percentage defense with a 24.5-clip, and slot third in three-point field goal percentage with a 32.2-clip.

- Junior Seana Stoia (Tulsa, Okla.) has matched a personal best 223 points to lead the Lady Crusaders at this juncture of the campaign. Stoia is averaging 11.7 ppg and has grabbed 122 rebounds for team-bests in both categories. Three of her past four outings have resulted in all her double-doubles this season.

- Sophomore Michelle DeCoud (Monument, Colo.) is averaging 12.5 points and has racked up double-digit scoring performances in her last four outings. She has three double-doubles on the season, with her latest coming the previous game. DeCoud claimed it by tying a season-high 12 boards at Schreiner and tossed in 11 points.

- Junior Holly Tonry (Seattle, Wash.) paces the team with 65 assists and is averaging 3.4 a contest. That latter category places her second in the conference, and she also became just the 6th player in the women's basketball program to break 200 in her career.
