Bustamante and Hagemann pass the 1,000-point mark for Women's Basketball

IRVING, Texas – A pair of seniors have recently eclipsed the 1,000-point mark of their careers. Marleyna Bustamante (Donna, Texas) and Brooke Hagemann (Oklahoma City, Okla.) have been able to join the ranks among 10 previous players on the women's basketball squad to accomplish the feat.

Bustamante notched the 1,000-career point plateau on Jan. 30 at Southwestern University. The guard from Donna, Texas, connected on the mark with a free throw just past the minute and half moment in the first half at SU. Bustamante would eventually post 19 points, which is currently her third highest season scoring performance of the campaign and second best at the time.

She paces UD with 12.3 points-per-game (ppg), and has claimed six double figure shooting contests in the last seven. Bustamante enters the remaining four matchups of the regular season with 1,072 points over her four-year career. The senior now ranks in ninth all-time in the UD women's basketball program.

A week later Hagemann tallied the point minimum to break in on Feb. 6 versus Centenary College of Louisiana. The forward connected on a layup with about two minutes remaining to secure the milestone.

In the victory with Centenary College, Hagemann posted the second double-double of the year for the senior forward. The native of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma totaled 20 points and 10 rebounds, each counting towards game-highs.

On the year, Hagemann is averaging 12.1 ppg and currently sits in 10th all-time in the Dallas program with 1,011 career points.

Dallas returns to action on Friday, Feb. 13 at Schreiner University at 6 p.m.
