Bustamante nets game-high 16 points, but Trinity thwarts Women's Basketball in 65-59 affair
SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The University of Dallas women's basketball team (5-6, 0-3 SCAC) lost 65-59 to Trinity University on Friday evening at Sams Gymnasium, after a second-half dry spell proved detrimental for the Lady Crusaders.
An ebb-and-flow first-half saw a combined six lead changes, and a tied 27-27 score by halftime ensued.
Trinity's (8-4, 3-0 SCAC) Anne Waidelich amassed 12 of her team-high 14 points in the second half, helping her team claim a six-point victory.
The Lady Tigers led the entire second half, and possesed a 20-point advantage with 6:52 remaining in regulation.
Dallas turned to Marleyna Bustamante (Donna, Texas) down the stretch, and the sophomore guard finished with a game-high 16 points in defeat. Sophomore guard Brooke Hagemann (Oklahoma City, Okla.) added 13 points, while senior guard Kylie Yoshimura (Temple City, Calif.) had 10.
Trinity took points-off-turnovers (23-14) and bench points (17-6).

Dallas will combat Southwestern University (9-4, 3-0 SCAC) on Saturday, Jan. 5, in a 6 p.m. tip-off in Georgetown, Texas.
