Women's Basketball can't tame the Trinity University Tigers

The University of Dallas women's basketball team (2-5) fell to Trinity University, on Tuesday evening, by a score of 71-62.

The starting five for the Lady Crusaders were sophomore guard Kylie Yoshimura (Temple City, Cali./Mark Keppel H.S.), senior guard Bethany Roessler (Phoenix, Ariz./Xavier College Prep), junior guard Kelly Regan (Plano, Texas/John Paul II H.S.), senior forward/center Joirdan Cole (Plano, Texas/Bishop Lynch H.S.), and senior forward Cara Sczepanski (Highland Village, Texas/Marcus H.S.).

Of this group, three reached double-figures in scoring -- Yoshimura, Cole and Sczepanski.  Yoshimura recorded 12 points on 4-of-17 shooting from the field, 2-of-7 from long range, and 2-of-4 from the free throw line. Cole had 14 points on 4-of-11 shooting from the field, including knocking down all four of her free throw attempts. Sczepanski headlined for Dallas on this night, netting 16 points on 5-of-10 from the field, including making 6-of-8 from the charity stripe.

Rebounding proved a key stat in this future Southwestern Collegiate Athletic Association (SCAC) match-up, as Trinity out-rebounded Dallas, 45-27. Of note, Trinity's Jana Tucker hauled in 19 rebounds -- four offensive, 15 defensive.

The Lady Crusaders will look to rebound from the loss, when they take on LeTourneau University on Saturday, Dec. 18th. Tip off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. at LeTourneau.
