Centenary Complete Sweep of Crusaders

SHREVEPORT, La. - The University of Dallas softball team lost their conference matchup with Centenary College on Sunday.  The Ladies completed the series sweep, as the Crusaders fall to 2-7 in conference play.

Game Information - Dallas 1, Centenary 9 (6 Innings)

WP: Ashley Hunter (3-1)

LP: Karina Campo (4-9)

The Ladies jumped out to an early lead, scoring three runs on three hits in the first inning.  They were helped along by a pair of Crusader miscues, with two of those runs being unearned.  Three walks and a hit batter in the second inning helped them along further, as Centenary stretched their lead to 6-0.

Maddy Murphy got the Crusaders on the board in the fourth with an RBI single, driving in Jennifer Schmalz, who doubled to left.  The Crusaders wouldn't get past first base the rest of the game, and Centenary were able to put the finishing touches on the game with three runs in the sixth for the mercy win.

Emily Luna went 2-3 with a couple of singles, and Jennifer Schmalz went 3-3, recording her third three-hit game of the season.  Luna currently leads the team with a .358 batting average, with Schmalz right behind at .328.
