Duenas Tabbed USCAA Softball All-American

DUBOIS, Pa. – On Sunday, the 2019 United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Softball All-Americans were announced at the pre-tournament luncheon.

Julie Duenas (Houston, Texas) nabbed a spot as a 2019 USCAA Honorable Mention All-American, the first of the sophomore's career. It extends Dallas' streak of having a player earn an All-American since 2013.

Duenas logged 52 hits in 39 spring games, which ranked fifth in the USCAA. Her four home runs also led the Crusaders and marked a personal-best. She increased her totals from 2017 in doubles by one (7), runs scored by five (16), and RBI by eight (24). Duenas slashed .416/.459/.568 on the season.

Duenas recorded a hit in 30 contests, with 16 of them multi-hit games. This included a 4-4 performance at home against Centenary College (Mar. 24) where she added two doubles, an RBI, and run. The third baseman also started the season on an 11-game hitting streak (15-of-16 to start campaign) and later added a stretch of 10 games in a row with a base knock. She ranked second all-time for the total amount of hits in a season.

Defensively, Duenas managed a .946 fielding percentage with 73 assists and 32 putouts on 111 chances. Of her six errors, just one of them occurred in 17 non-conference games.
