HOW IT HAPPENED

Salve Regina received a two-run home run from Woznick that went over the left field wall. This had followed a double by Elizabeth Lombardo to right. The Sea Hawks tacked on a run in the second frame as Galeazzi went to steal second and was able to advance to third on an error by the catcher. Florent had stolen home on the same sequence.

Dallas' backstop, Lazarek, responded from that error in the bottom half of the inning by smacking a solo blast to left and getting her squad on the board. It was the team's 5th home run of the season, and she is the 4th different Crusader to make the trot.

In the third inning, the Crusaders had a chance to utilize their speed but were only able to gain a single run during the threat. Lety Morales (Fontana, Calif.) tallied the other hit with a single through the right side to start the inning. Finch legged out an infield hit to third. Miller reached on an error by the third baseman, but Morales was out trying to stretch at home when a throw was made at second. Not all harm was done as Melanie Savala (Bryan, Texas) got an RBI ground out to drive Finch, who had winded up on third at the end of that play.

The Sea Hawks pulled away later with six runs on as many hits in their final turn to bat. Hickey nailed a one-out home run to left. Lexi Soucie doubled to left and from there the offense continued to compound. Florent singled through the left side to drive in a pair for the first half of the six runs. UD's Martin came in and got Hickey to end the frame with a fly out to left.
