Men's Cross Country Competes at SCAC Championships

GEORGETOWN, Texas - The University of Dallas men's cross country team competed in the SCAC Championships hosted by Southwestern University on Saturday.  The Crusaders placed sixth overall with a score of 181 points.  Colorado College were the champions with a score of 31 points, with Trinity right behind in second place at 35 points.

Nico Walz led the pack for Dallas, finishing the 8k in 29:34.8, just 15 seconds off his PR.  James Latour and Tanish Garg were neck and neck, finishing one right after the other.  Latour posted a time of 30:50.8, while Garg posted a PR of 30:53.7.  

Paul Simko finished with a time of 31:57.1, Caleb Clayton in 32:27.6, and Andrew Kamp rounded out the field for Dallas with a time of 35:36.3.  James Settles of Colorado College was the individual champion with a time of 25:23.6.

"It was a great performance from the team today on a very hilly course, I was happy to see Tanish grab his PR," said head coach Nick Schneigert.  "Nico and Paul were close to their PR's as well.  I am super proud of them and we had a lot of fun this year.  I'm very excited to see the future of this program."
