Crusaders Grab Second Place at Home Invitational; Lagarde Finishes Third

IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas men's cross country team took second place at the University of Dallas Invitational on Saturday with 47 points. Thomas Lagarde (Linden, Va.) notched a third place finish on the day to lead the Crusaders. John James (Metairie, La.) grabbed seventh to help Dallas edge Central Baptist College.

Lagarde has now placed in the top-three twice this season. Five other Dallas competitors finished within the top-20. Peter Hedlesky (Florissant, Mo.) and Gabe Vazquez (Clive, Iowa) both ran their fastest time on this course.   

Austin College won the race with 18 points. Rj Navarro led the 'Roos by winning the race (16.35.10). Johnny Biffar grabbed second with a time of 17:17.80. AC then took positions 4, 5, and 6.

Central Baptist College took third as a team (73) as Paul Quinn College (101) and Louisiana College (110) took fourth and fifth, respectively.

Dallas will now turn its attention to 8k races for the remainder of the season. UD will compete next at the ETBU Home Meet in Marshall, Texas next Friday.
