Crusaders get 3rd at Home Invitational; Kilmer takes 6th with Best UD Time

IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas men's cross country team finished third in the University of Dallas Invitational on a hot Saturday morning. As a team, the Crusaders tallied 87 points and finished in the top half out of seven schools. Only McMurry University (41) and Hardin-Simmons University (58) had more points than the host team.

Joseph Kilmer (Rockville, Md.) led the team with a sixth place finish time of 17:10.38. Joseph Boyle (St. Paul, Minn.) ran the second fastest time on the team with a 18:07.85 for 13th. Elijah Depew (Grove City, Pa.) hustled the very last stretch to edge out 17th by .43 seconds with an 18:26.06 mark. Andrew Maal (Pueblo West, Colo.) closed the gap with 19th and an 18:33.9 time.

Maximilian Wilson (Houston, Texas) notably bested a personal record (PR) by four seconds from earlier this fall with a 20:04.32-clip. James Klatt (Highwood, Ill.) also set a PR in his first year with the team by etching a 23:25.93 result.

Marbeq Edgar from Wiley College repeated as the individual top time consecutive UD Invitationals. His time was a 16:30.47, which was slower than his 15:57.9 in 2016 and reflects how challenging the course was on the morning. Joseph Parker from Sul Ross State University and Aj Tillman from Hardin-Simmons completed the top three respectively with times of 16:43.72 and 16:55.09.
