Men's Cross Country takes 3rd in Codfish Bowl Saturday

BOSTON, Mass. – The University of Dallas men's cross country team notched third place out of seven teams Saturday in the 46th annual Codfish Bowl Cross Country competition hosted in Franklin Park. Dallas compiled 116 points and averaged a total time of 29:47.80. It was the Crusaders' first 8k run on the campaign.

Senior Ryan McAnany (Kanas City, Kan.), defending conference runner of the week, would lead the team individuals for the third consecutive meet this fall with a time of 27:53 minutes. McAnany finished 20th in the rankings.  

Three runners for UD finished within 10 places led by senior Javier Secaira (Tacoma, Wash.) in 36th place. He reflected a time of 29:22 minutes. Nearly behind him was fellow classmate Jack Grubner (Needham, Mass.) with a 29:39 mark for 38th. Completing the trio was freshman Rafael Medina's (Waco, Texas) 30:36 for 48th place.

Sophomore Peter deTar (Coeur d'Alene, Idaho) would post a 31:39 minute score.

81 racers took to the course altogether in Saturday's competition. Thomas Toth would boast the fastest time with a 24:49 minute result. Nicholas Green and Kevin Green completed the top three with 25:39 and 25:56, respective scores.

Greater Boston TC would win the team portion of the day with 22 points and averaged 26:57.40 minutes. Taking second in front of the Crusaders was Merrimack College with 33 points and a 27:07.40 minute average.
