@UofDallas Men's Cross Country earns third place at Conference Championship

BOERNE, Texas – The University of Dallas men's cross country team competed in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championship Saturday, and finished third place out of eight squads.

The Crusaders were paced by junior Ryan McAnany (Kanas City, Kansas), who was named All-Conference Team following the contest. The top runner for the navy and white throughout the campaign led again with a 28:06 total for sixth place in the rankings. He was the lone player to crack top ten for Dallas.

Junior Javier Secaira (Tacoma, Wash.) also tallied a remarkable time at 29:17, which helped the competitor garner a 17th place finish.

Merely moments apart were junior Jack Grubner (Needham, Mass.) and sophomore Gabriel Marasigan (Orange County) at 30:14 and 30:43 minutes, respectively to notch 21st and 24th. Contributing a solid afternoon was junior Zach Zendlt (Belton, Texas) with a 31:47 time.

It was a difficult course to compete on with muddy conditions looming, but the Crusaders finished strong and held on in Head Coach Matt Barber's first season at the helm.

Winning the title for the first time since 2011 was Colorado College and Trinity University claimed second to round out the top three involving Dallas in third.

Colorado College's Nick Hall won the entire race individually with a time of 26:37 and teammate Ryan Bing clinched third at 27:48.

Trinity's Taylor Piske sandwiched in between the CC duo for second place with a 27:25. The host school also had individuals rank in fourth and fifth, respectively.

Next Opponent:

Dallas will enjoy a week off before heading to Berry, Georgia, for the NCAA Division III South Regional hosted by Berry College on Nov. 15.
