@UofDallas Men's Cross Country takes 'Fifth Place' in East Texas Baptist Invitational

MARSHALL, Texas – The University of Dallas men's cross country team finished fifth in the East Texas Baptist University Invitational over the weekend.

Leading the way for the Crusaders was junior Javier Secaira (Tacoma, Wash.) with a time of 29:56.76 minutes. He finished on top amongst the team for the first time this campaign. Out of 64 competitors the junior notched a season-high 11th in the rankings.

Fellow classmate Ryan McAnany (Kansas City, Kan.) continued a solid year as he totaled 31:24.01 minutes in the race to slot into 18th. Right behind him in 20th was junior Jack Grubner (Needham, Mass.) who raced to a time of 31:27.55.

Adding solid times were sophomore Gabriel Marasigan (Orange County, Calif.) and senior Aaron French (Siren, Wis.). The duo tallied scores of 32:37.76 and 33:16.7, respectively.

Winning the entire competition was Wiley College scoring 18 overall. University of Texas at Tyler and host East Texas Baptist University rounded out the top three team rankings.

Wiley's Jeremiah Kipkemei clinched first in the individual standings with a 26:51.26 completion.  

Next Meet:

Dallas will run on Saturday, Oct. 18, in Sherman, Texas, as they compete in the Austin College Invite.
