Men's Cross Country finishes fifth at Texas DIII Championships

The University of Dallas men's cross country team was in action Saturday, finishing 5 of 10 overall at the Texas DIII Championships hosted by Texas Lutheran University in Seguin, TX. 

Individually, UD freshman Clement O'Reilly's (Front Royal, VA/Warren County H.S.) 28:38 in this 8K race was deserving of 12th place overall, and was 1:24 outside Texas-Tyler's Jeff Chandler's winning time. 

UD sophomore Alex Bukaty (New Orleans, LA/Jesuit H.S.) finished 25th, posting a time of 30:01, while senior Billy Gibula (Richmond, TX/Strake Jesuit College Prep) crossed the finish line at 33:01, which was good enough for 46th overall.  

The field of Crusaders were rounded out by:

- Juan Pablo Mata (The Woodlands, TX/St. Thomas H.S.) 34:47, 58th 

- John Norton (Louisville, KY/Holy Angels Academy) 35:10, 64th

- Andrew Natali (Appleton, WI/Appleton North H.S.) 35:39, 66th

- Robert Landreaux (New Orleans, LA/Jesuit H.S.) 45:42, 79th 

As a team, the men finished with 156 points, which had them looking up at Trinity University, which won the event with 28 points.  

On Saturday, October 2, UD will compete in Memphis, TN, at the Rhodes College Invitational.
