McGuirk Competed at McMurry's War Hawk Classic on Saturday

ABILENE, Texas - Kevin McGuirk (Front Royal, Va.) from the University of Dallas men's track and field team competed on Saturday, May 4, at the War Hawk Classic hosted by McMurry University. He ran a 1:00.75 time in the 400 Meter Hurdles.

McGuirk captured gold in the 400 Meter Hurdles at the 2019 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championship in San Antonio last Saturday with a 54.84 time. That mark broke the school record in the event for the fifth straight time this spring the UD senior had competed in the event. McGuirk's time checked in at 38th on TFRRS coming into the weekend. The top 20 times in an event qualify for Nationals, which will be held at Geneva, Ohio, on May 23-25. 

McGuirk was originally scheduled to race in the Texas A&M Invitational II on Friday, but inclement weather cancelled the competition. The 400m Hurdles would have featured McGuirk - the SCAC Champion - and Hasanai Chanriang - the American Southwest Conference (ASC) Champion.
