Schneigert Tabbed Next UD Cross Country and Track and Field Head Coach

IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas announced on Thursday that Nick Schneigert has been hired as the head coach for the cross country and track and field programs. Schneigert takes over for previous five-year head coach and UD alumni, Matt Barber, who announced his resignation effective on September 1. Schneigert will begin his first date at the institution on Sept. 4, as he takes over as the 16th men’s cross country head coach, 11th women’s cross country head coach, and 10th head coach of the track and field teams.

McGuirk Competed at NCC Gregory Final Qualifier on Thursday

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Kevin McGuirk (Front Royal, Va.) from the University of Dallas men's track and field team competed on Thursday evening for one last push at making Nationals in the 400 Meters Hurdles race at the NCC Gregory Final Qualifier hosted by North Central College. McGuirk unfortunately came up short of his end result after he finished with a time of 57.97, but the senior will have one more year of eligibility next season to get another shot at Nationals.
McGuirk Set to Compete at NCC Gregory Final Qualifier in Last Chance Meet

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Kevin McGuirk (Front Royal, Va.) from the University of Dallas men’s track and field team is set to compete at the NCC Gregory Final Qualifier on Thursday in a Last Chance Meet. McGuirk will compete in the 400 Meters Hurdles race, where he currently is ranked seventh in the Division III South/SE Region. He is also ranked 53rd nationally where the top 20 times in an event qualify for Nationals, which will be held at Geneva, Ohio, on May 23-25.

IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas athletics department celebrated its sixth annual end of the year banquet on Sunday, May 5, at the Hagger University Center. Each coach from the 15 NCAA affiliated programs took a moment to speak on behalf of their program, as well as recognize those that received postseason achievements highlighted by each team’s Most Valuable Player (Listed at bottom).

McGuirk Takes Home Gold Medal in Men's 400-Meter Hurdles; Garners School Record In 5th Straight Competition

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The University of Dallas men’s track and field team wrapped up the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championships hosted by Trinity University on Saturday. Kevin McGuirk (Front Royal, Va.) secured the men’s first gold medal in three seasons after he broke his own school record in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 54.84. This mark helped Dallas gain 10 points on the final day of competition. McGuirk became just the second men’s track athlete in school history to secure a gold medal in the conference championships. Prince Giadolor was the other UD athlete to garner a first-place finish in 2016 after he won the 100-meter dash.
USCAA Track & Field Player of the Week Honors Return to McGuirk & Wilgenbusch

NORFOLK, Va. - The University of Dallas track and field team had a pair of runners tabbed United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Player of the Week for the second time this season and this month. It was the same duo as before, with Kevin McGuirk (Front Royal, Va.) on the men's side and Anna Wilgenbusch (St. Paul, Minn.) on the women's team.
McGuirk Sets School Record in 400 Hurdles Race at East Texas Invitational

COMMERCE, Texas - The University of Dallas men’s track and field team competed at the East Texas Invitational hosted by Texas A&M Commerce on Friday. Kevin McGuirk (Front Royal, Va.) set a school record and a new Personal Record (PR) in the 400 hurdles with a time of 56.41 which was good enough for eighth place.
