Giadolor named SCAC Men's Track & Field Newcomer of the Year

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Prince Giadolor (Rockwall, Texas) was tabbed Newcomer-of-the-Year for the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) track and field team. The rising sophomore is the first member of the University of Dallas men's track and field team to garner an Athlete of the Year honor. The women's side received the same award three seasons ago. Rising senior Katie McIntyre (Sparta, N.J.) was awarded her rookie campaign in 2014 for UD's other SCAC Postseason accolade.

Giadolor won the 100m in the SCAC Championship Finals for the Crusaders' first gold medal podium in conference history. It was the program's first championship in an event since the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) in 2004. He opened SCAC preliminaries with a personal record (PR) of 10.83 in the 100 Meter Dash. His first place streak within the SCAC Performance List on that event remained intact as Giadolor captured the SCAC Championship in the 100m with a 10.87 time.

Giadolor also earned All-Conference Third Team honors in the 200 Meter Dash with a school record breaking 21.87 time. He also was part of the 4x100 Meter Relay unit that earned third place in the SCAC Championship, too.

Giadolor broke onto the Track & Field Results Reporting System (TFFS) when he made his collegiate debut in the McMurry War Hawk Classic and posted a top time in the SCAC Performance List with a 10.84 mark.

The short distance runner continues to add to his successful offseason after earning USTFCCCA All-Region a couple weeks ago. He earned the school's first one after ranking in the top five on an individual event in the final TFRRS on the season. Giadolor notched that with his performance in the 100m.
