Giadolor wins SCAC 100 Meter and Breaks own 200m Record; Two more Topped in the Relays
SEGUIN, Texas – The University of Dallas men's track and field team completed the final day of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championship hosted by Texas Lutheran University. Freshman Prince Giadolor (Rockwall, Texas) continued his stellar championship debut by securing the first individual SCAC Championship in school history. His 100 Meter time bested the next finisher by .12 ticks on the stopwatch.
The last time a member of the Crusaders earned a Championship was Adam Todd with two in the 100m and Decathlon in 2004. Those were in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association. (USCAA).

After finishing fifth on Friday as a team, Dallas improved to fourth with 44 points. Trinity University prevailed with 251 points. Texas Lutheran ranked second overall with 226, and Colorado College earned 66.
Any top three individual places on the events are automatic selections to the All-Conference Team. On the men's side, Dallas had seven total.
NOTABLE RESULTS
- Giadolor headlined the UD results with a 10.87 second race in the 100m. It is the third time this season the duel athlete from men's basketball has led all conference times.
- Giadolor kept the momentum with more incredible results in the 200m dash. After setting a school record in the preliminaries (22.16), he bested the mark with a 21.87 on Saturday. Only Marquis Brown's 21.57 bettered the results, as Giadolor claimed second place.
- Junior Barton Holdridge (Fort Worth, Texas) also ran the 200m and improved a spot in the standings, earning fifth with a 23.27 time. The top-five tandem of Giadolor and Holdridge amassed 10 points altogether for UD on the event.
- Dallas ranked third in the 4x100m as sophomore Dominic Del Curto (Oakdale, Calif.), Holdridge, junior Thomas Pierick (Des Moines, Iowa), and Giadolor combined with a 44.15 posted time. This unit broke their own previous school record, 44.19, from the Baker Relays.
- A second school record was shattered in the 4x400m relay that had also been previously set in the conference championships in 2014. On Saturday, Holdridge, Ciancone, Pierick, and senior Ryan McAnany (Kansas City, Kan.) accomplished the feat. Holdridge and McAnany had previously been part of the most recent record before this one.
- McAnany's prime result was the third top three individual result in the 1500m. He ran a 4:08.28 to tally six more points for the Crusaders.
- McAnany cracked under two minutes in the 800m for fifth place. His time was 1:59.74 and improved over his 2:00.16 seed. Freshman Rafael Medina (Waco, Texas) broke his seed time (2:22.25) with a 2:10.07 minute showing in the same event.
- Holdridge and Ciancone both improved on their qualifying times in the 400m on Saturday. Holdridge also moved up a spot in the standings with fourth place. He ran a 50.05, and Ciancone tallied a personal record (PR) with a 52.97.
- The field events were headlined by junior Paulo Salazar (Dallas, Texas) and sophomore Marcus Carmona (San Antonio, Texas). The duo each competed in the discus throw. Salazar hit a 32.69m PR distance for ninth. Carmona recorded a 29.49m.
- Carmona etched a point with a 34.17m posted throw in the Javelin that morning.

Dallas has a week to recover before traveling to Delhi, New York, for the (USCAA) Championship on April 29-30.
