Men's 4x100 and 4x800 Records Broken; Track and Field Results from Baker Relays

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The University of Dallas men's track and field team competed in the Baker Relays on Saturday. Two new school records were set in a pair of hand-off relays for the Crusaders. Dallas finished eighth place as a team with 29 points.

NOTABLE RESULTS

-The first of two program feats broken was the 4x100 Meter Relay at a time of 44.39 seconds. Racing for the Crusaders included: sophomore Dominic Del Curto (Oakdale, Calif.), junior Barton Holdridge (Fort Worth, Texas), junior Thomas Pierick (Des Moines, Iowa), and freshman Prince Giadolor (Rockwall, Texas). This is only the second time this unit has raced together after debuting last weekend.

- The other record shattered was the 4x800m relay that notched Dallas third place overall. Helping compile a record breaking time of 8:23.36 minutes included: senior Ryan McAnany (Kansas City, Kan.), Holdridge, freshman Rafael Medina (Waco, Texas), and freshman Andrew Ciancone (Houston, Texas). Notable splits within this group were McAnany running a 1:58 and Holdridge with a 2:02.

- Pierick set a personal record (PR) in the 400 hurdles by posting a time of 1:02.96 minutes.

- The 4x400 A team for UD notched seventh with a 3:34.92 result in the event. The quartet running included: Del Curto, Holdridge, Pierick, and McAnany.

- Senior Jack Grubner (Needham, Mass.) made his season debut in the 1000m, and ran a 36:40.64.

- Junior Paulo Salazar (Dallas, Texas) threw a PR in the shot put by hitting an 11.27m toss.
