Men's Track and Field improve in SCAC Performance Lists at War Hawk Classic

ABILENE, Texas – The University of Dallas men's track and field team competed in the McMurry War Hawk Classic on a breezy day, Friday. Host school McMurry University claimed first as a team, with 118 points. University of Texas at Tyler and Western Texas College are currently listed second and third. (Delayed stats that will be updated later could affect these final rankings.)

Altogether, 17 teams suited up in this competition, which included Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) foes: Trinity University, Texas Lutheran University, and Southwestern University. Dallas placed 12th as a team with 19 points accumulated.

NOTABLE RESULTS

-Freshman Prince Giadolor (Rockwall, Texas) made his spring debut for the track and field team and finished as the top Division III performer in the 100 meters. The UD men's basketball player, competing as a duel athlete, notched fourth overall with a 10.84 second sprint. His time is first in the SCAC Performance List on the Track and Field Results Reporting System (TFRRS).

- Junior Barton Holdridge (Fort Worth, Texas) ran a season-best in the 400m to finish sixth place with a 50.69 second mark. His result ranked the men's soccer duel athlete third on the SCAC Performance List.

- Senior Ryan McAnany (Kansas City, Kan.) was the final top five individual for UD in the individual event standings, taking fourth in the 1500m with a 4:13.73 minute time. He took the lead in lap three, but was unable to break away in the final straightaway. McAnany remains second in SCAC Performance List from the Trinity Open competition.

- Senior Jacob Loel (Phoenix, Ariz.) debuted in the 1500m for a 4:42 time.

- Also debuting for Dallas was junior Thomas Pierick (Des Moines, Iowa) in the 400m hurdles. He delivered a 1:03 mark for eighth place. Sophomore teammate Dominic Del Curto (Oakdale, Calif.) bested a career-time by over three seconds, as he followed just behind Pierick with a 1:04 for 10th.

- The men's 4x100m relay featured Del Curto, Holdridge, Pierick, and Giadolor racing in their first competition together in the heat. The quartet was 19 ticks off from hitting the school record, but used a 44.80 mark to rank third on SCAC Performance List.

-  The 4x400m relay featured Del Curto, Holdridge, Pierick, and McAnany improved to third on the SCAC Performance List.

UP NEXT

Dallas competes in the Baker Relays at Baldwin City, Kansas, on April 2. This is the second all relays competition this spring for the Crusaders.
