Men's Track and Field Friday Results in East Texas Trials

TYLER, Texas – The results from the East Texas Grand Prairie Dog Time Trials have been posted for the University of Dallas men's track and field team. Team scores were not calculated or counted, but the Crusaders did reflect a solid start to the campaign.

NOTABLE EVENT RESULTS

- The unit on the Distance Medley Relay (DMR) notched second place to headline the results with a time of 11:06.19 minutes. Senior Jack Grubner (Needham, Mass.) started with the 1200m, junior Thomas Pierick (Des Moines, IOWA) ran the 400m, freshman Rafael Medina (Waco, Texas) ran the 800m, and senior Ryan McAnany (Kansas City, Kan.) ran the 1600m.

- Within the DMR McAnany ran a 4:30 minute and Pierick was 0:54 second  time. 

- Freshman Andrew Ciancone (Houston, Texas) made his debut in the 800m with a 2:10.91 time. He cracked top ten with a ninth place finish.

- Another freshman securing ninth was cross country runner, Caine Mongeau (Little Elm, Texas). He ran in the 1500m and etched a 4:33.87 time.

- Junior Paulo Salazar (Dallas, Texas) threw a personal record (PR) on the discus with a 32.99 mark. The toss landed Salazar in fifth.

- Also on the field event throwing for the first time was sophomore Marcus Carmona (San Antonio, Texas) with a 28.88 throw.

Dallas returns to the course next weekend on February 27. The Crusaders will participate in the Trinity Open.
