Ten Crusaders boast 2013 'All-SCAC' Men's T&F accolades

SAN ANTONIO - Ten student-athletes from the University of Dallas men's track & field team have been named by the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) to the 2013 All-SCAC Men's Track & Field Team.

Matt Barber was the most heralded as he took second place in the 200 meter dash and 400 meter dash with respective times of 22.83 and 50.53. Barber helped the 4x100 meter relay team -- Matt Mayor, Dylan Myers, Garrett Gustafson -- secure third place with a time of 44.63. He also paticipated on the 4x400 meter relay team -- Clinton Heyer, Will Remmes, Ryan McAnany -- which took third place with a time of 3:30.63.

Gustafson's 43.29m heave in the javelin throw earned second place in the event, while Matt Mayor's 40.36m took third.

Heyer's 1:59.64 in the 800 meter run was third, and McAnany garnered third in the 1500 meter relay with a time of 4:09.26.

Will Chavey and Tanner Bruffey rounded out the Crusader medalists with third-place finishes. Chavey tallied a discus throw of 28.57m, while Bruffey traveled 6.13m in the long jump.

Southwestern University's Daniel Tuttle took SCAC Male Athlete-of-the-Meet honors as the junior won three individual events and led the Pirates to second-place finishes in both the 4x100 and 4x400 meter relays. He swept the 110 and 400 hurdles, then also dipped into the field events with an individual title in the triple jump.
