Madere to Lead Cross Country and Track & Field Teams

The University of Dallas has hired Dore Madere as cross country and track and field coach for the 2009-10 seasons. Although she is making her coaching debut, Madere is no stranger to track and field. Madere, a Georgia Tech graduate, competed on the school's track and field team setting a school record in the discus and hammer throws as a senior. Additionally, Madere competed in the discus throw at the NCAA Division I Championship, earning a spot on the outdoor track and field All-East Regional team. In 2006, her accomplishments on the field won her recognition as a member of the "Top Team in The Field" by Nike Running. Madere, who is certified in CPR, has also earned a certificate in personal training for the American College of Sports Medicine in 2007. Over the summer, Madere also completed a class in General Nutrition at Northlake College. Prior to coming to UD, her skills in fitness and training led her to become the project coordinator for the Nike Run Hit Remix Club Run LA training series for On Board Entertainment in the spring of 2007.

The 2005 graduate of Georgia Teach earned her B.S. in Global Economics and Modern Languages with a concentration in Spanish. She currently resides in Dallas, TX. Dore can be reached at dmadere@udallas.edu.
