McNamara Pushes Crusaders Men's Soccer to Road Win on Saturday

SHERMAN, Texas – The University of Dallas men's soccer team scored a 3-1 victory on the road at Austin College on Saturday afternoon. Brady McNamara (San Antonio, Texas) was the catalyst on the pitch for UD with the first two goals recorded. Classmate Chase Reynolds (Southlake, Texas) connected with an assist on the second McNamara goal.

The Crusaders erased a 1-0 hole that happened in the first two minutes, as Austin College's Jacob Tekle found the back of the net with Mickey Maloney getting the helper on the quick start for the 'Roos.

McNamara was responsible for the first two goals, with his tying shot at 34:58. less than two minutes later the senior was able to beat the keeper inside left from point blank. Reynolds extended his team-lead in points eight with the assist.

In the 75th minute, a pair of freshmen on the team, Karson Pannell (Southlake, Texas) and Andre Brkic, contributed to the final UD goal with Pannell beating the keeper 1-on-1.

It was the duos' first career points with Pannell scoring his first collegiate goal. Brkic also tallied his first career point with the assist.

Dallas held a 16-13 advantage on shots. Both teams took eight in the first half. The 'Roos took seven corner kicks compared to UD's one in the second stanza.

Goncalo Pernas (Lisbon, Portugal) claimed three saves in the complete match. Dallas moves to 2-3-1 overall, while Austin College goes to 0-4.

The Crusaders have scored seven combined goals in the last two matches at Austin College. The last matchup in Sherman prior to today was in 2017. 

Dallas next plays at Colorado College on Saturday, April 3. Kickoff is at 11 a.m. local time and 12 p.m. CST.
