Former Men's Soccer Crusader Schwarz Signed with Major Arena Soccer League Orlando Seawolves

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – University of Dallas men's soccer alumni Luke Schwarz is playing with the Orlando Seawolves out of Florida Sunshine League in Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) this winter. He was part of a trio of players signed on Thursday, November 21. The Seawolves opened their campaign on Friday night with a 3-2 setback to the Florida Tropics. Schwarz, listed as number 44, did not appear however in an official release SeaWolves Head Coach Chris Kokalis stated on the latest signees, "Their hard work and dedication these past few weeks have shown they're ready for the season."

Schwarz was first signed in April to the USL Daytona Soccer Club, where he became the latest UD athlete to play professionally. Complete List of UD Professional Athletes

Schwarz graduated from Dallas in 2018 in business and journalism and was a four-year member of the men's soccer program. The native of Tucson, Arizona, lettered four years at Dallas and earned consecutive year team MVPs in 2016 and '17. Schwarz garnered three All-SCAC Teams, a pair of SCAC All-Tournament mentions, and was named on the 2017 SCAC All-Sportsmanship Team.

The midfielder combined for 31 points with the help of 10 goals and 11 assists. This included a career-high and team-leading six goals and five assists in 2016. He was a perfect 8-for-8 on penalty kicks and notched two game-winners. Schwarz was instrumental in leading the 2017 UD men's soccer team to their first SCAC Championship Match, after having the most SCAC wins in school history and finishing runners-up.
