SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The University of Dallas men's soccer team fell to No. 6 Trinity University 3-0 on Sunday afternoon. The Crusaders (7-4, 6-3 SCAC), who beat the Tigers 2-1 back in Dallas on Sept. 30 to give the Tigers their first loss on the season, were unable to take the second match of the year. Trinity (12-1-1, 10-1 SCAC) has now won four straight matches since that loss in Irving.

Neither team had any close chances for most of the first half. Both teams were looking to go into half-time tied at 0, but Brady Johnston scored off the free kick from Jacob Hallenberger in the 45th minute with 39 seconds left on the clock. He struck a nice header over the outstretched arms of Sean Carlin (Puyallup Wash.) to go up 1-0 at half.

Trinity started the second half with a quick goal in the 47th minute when they went up 2-0 with a goal by Roman Cano as he took a shot from the left side of the net and beat the goalkeeper. Dallas had a great opportunity in the 62nd minute when Nate Riddle (Millsboro, Dele.) had a header on goal, but the Tigers goalkeeper made a nice save to deny the Crusaders. Trinity grabbed another goal in the 68th minute when Andrea Codispoti took a shot from the top of the box and found the top of the net.

Chase Reynolds (Southlake, Texas) led the Crusaders with three shots on the day, putting two of them on goal. Jose Martinez (Tegucigalpa, Honduras) followed right behind his teammate with two shots attempted. Carlin made five saves on the day, allowing three goals and playing 70:28 minutes. Caleb Strange (Argyle, Texas) made his first appearance of 2018, as he played the final 19:32 minutes in goal.

Adrea Codispoti led the Tigers with five shots, placing one on goal. Brady Johnston took four shots. Blake Lieberman made four saves in goal, as he played 69:36 minutes. McCaleb Taylor came in to play the final 20:24 minutes for the Tigers.

The Tigers outshot Dallas 23-10 on the day. There were 36 total fouls in the game.

Dallas will be back home for a three-game stretch starting on Tuesday (10/16) as they will take on Centenary College. Kickoff will begin at 5 p.m.
