KICKOFF
The University of Dallas men's soccer team will make a weekend trip to Colorado College to take on Johnson & Wales on Friday at 2 p.m. (MST). They will continue the trip on Sunday against Colorado College at 12 p.m. (MST). The Crusaders (5-2, 4-1 SCAC) is on a four-game winning streak heading to Colorado. UD has now surpassed the conference win-total from last season through five games.
UD NOTES
- Sean Taylor (Austin, Texas) was named SCAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week after he anchored the defense by allowing just 10 shots on goal over two games.
- Sean Carlin (Puyallup, Wash.) was named USCAA Men's Division I Soccer Goalie of the Week for the second time this year. Carlin collected eight saves over two games, and was a key contributor in protecting a 2-1 lead against No. 8 Trinity University.
- Dallas ranks first in the SCAC is goals allowed, only allowing three goals all season. The Crusaders also rank atop the conference is goals-against average posting a 0.46.
- Taylor leads the Crusaders with three goals on the season.
A LOOK AT THE OPPONENTS
(Johnson & Wales University)
- The Wildcats (4-4-1, 2-4-1 SCAC) are coming off a 1-0 double overtime win at Centenary.
- The first match between Dallas and JWU was cancelled due to a lightning delay and unplayable field conditions.
- Oscar Elias and Kyler Fowkes are tied for the team-lead with two goals apiece.
- David Furnas is behind Carlin for second place in the SCAC posting a .850 save percentage. He has only allowed three goals all year.
- Dallas holds a 1-0 all-time series lead against JWU.
(Colorado College)
- The Tigers (8-3, 6-2 SCAC) are on a current three-game win streak.
- Keller Mochel leads the SCAC with seven shutouts.
- The Tigers have a trio of players that have scored three goals. Robert Malone, Skyler StarkRagsdale, and Daniel Krueger all lead the team.
- The Tigers won the first game this season against UD on Sept. 9th 1-0. The last game between these two squads in Colorado Springs ended in a 0-0 tie in OT after a two hour lighning delay and darnkess shortened the overtime play.
