Martinez and Carlin Awarded USCAA Player of the Week Honors

NORFOLK, Va. – The University of Dallas men's soccer team had a pair of players selected United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Players of the Week. Sean Carlin (Puyallup, Wash.) was named Goalkeeper of the Week, while Jose Martinez (Tegucigaipa, Honduras) got tabbed Player of the Week. It is Carlin's third time to earn the recognition – twice in 2017.

Carlin logged his 2nd shutout in a 1-0 victory for the Crusaders this past week against Centenary College. He made four saves against four shots faced in the team's 1st SCAC win. Sean has allowed only two goals in four games this season which is tied for 4th in the USCAA. He is also 2nd in the league for goals-against average with a 0.50.

Martinez provided the game-winning goal in a 1-0 final against Centenary College to lift the Crusaders to their first SCAC win of 2018. The game winner happened to be Martinez's first collegiate goal and occurred in the 89th minute of the match. He was also able to place two of his three shots on frame.

Dallas is on the road this Friday, September 21, at Austin College for a 6 p.m. kickoff.
