Ogueri tabbed SCAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) selected Chima Ogueri (Garland, Texas) from the University of Dallas men's soccer team as Offensive Player of the Week for matches played beginning the week of September 11th. The sophomore earned the accolade for the first time in his career, and is the first UD player since Colton Allen received the honor on October 26th, 2015.

Ogueri led the Crusaders to a historic night at fourth ranked Trinity University, with his second goal of the match coming in overtime to lift Dallas 3-2. The victory for the Crusaders was the first at Trinity and ended the Tigers' 47-game home winning streak at Paul McGinlay Field dating to Sept. 10th, 2013.

Ogueri notched his first goal of the campaign in the 37th minute to give his squad a 2-1 advantage. After the Tigers scored the equalizer late in the second half, Ogueri ensured Dallas celebrated its second overtime victory in four games with the golden goal at the 95:51 minute mark. Ogueri totaled a trio of shots in the contest, with all put on frame.

Dallas (3-1-1, 2-0-1 SCAC) is tied for first place with Austin College through two weeks of conference play. The Crusaders will be at home for the first time since the opener on Sept. 1st when they host two SCAC teams. Centenary College is the first opponent with a 5 p.m. kickoff time on Sept. 22nd. Austin College visits on the 24th with the two top teams in the current standings set to square off at 2 p.m.
