THE LEAD

The University of Dallas men's soccer team (5-4, 2-3 SCAC) has made the halfway point of the schedule and will be at the midway point of Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) action after this Sunday. The Crusaders face Austin College on September 30 at 5 p.m. and Centenary College on October 1 at 12 p.m. Friday is a different start time with the women's team going prior due to conference regulations.

The Crusaders split the first two games on this six-game home stand last weekend. After an overtime setback, 3-2, against Southwestern University; Dallas topped Texas Lutheran University in a 4-2 win that included three goals in the first half.

UD SEASON STATS

SCOUTING THE 'ROOS

Austin College (5-4-1, 2-3 SCAC) claimed a 3-2 double overtime win last time out at home against Schreiner University. The 'Roos also narrowly fell 3-2 to top ranked Trinity University in the previous match. After a 4-1 start, AC is 1-3-1 with every contest decided by a goal. Only one non-tied match was determined by more than one. Austin College is 1-3 away from home this fall.

Phillip Le, who earned SCAC Offensive Player of the Week last week, is the team leader in scoring with nine goals. That number is also the top spot in the league by four. Thomas Quick is only other play with multiple goals on the squad with three. Juan Ramirez and Jack Wheaton are first and second on the team in assists with five and three, respectively. Joseph Khalaf has logged most of the goalkeeper minutes with 810:54. He has 45 saves and an 81.8 save percentage.

Austin College Season Stats

Dallas is 19-37-10 overall against the 'Roos. In 2015, the teams met on the pitch once with the trip at Sherman, Texas, cancelled due to poor field conditions. At that juncture of the season, tournament seedings were not affected by cancellation of the match. In Irving, Texas, the Crusaders muscled a 2-1 victory after trailing in the 11th minute. Holdridge captured both goals, one per half, to lift the home squad. Schwarz and Schnell were credited an assist on the separate plays.

SCOUTING THE GENTS

Centenary College (4-5, 1-4 SCAC) has dropped five of the past six after starting the three with three wins. The Maroon and White took top ranked Trinity University into overtime, but fell 2-1 in the second extra frame. That was not the lone contest to go beyond regulation, as the Gents defeated Schreiner 2-1 last Friday. Centenary is 2-3 on the road including a pair of SCAC setbacks. The Gents are at Colorado College on Friday.

Nick Hammond leads the Gents in goals with three and points with six. Scott Halper has chipped in two goals and an assist for five points. He is the team leader in shots with 15. Hammond has placed 10 of his 11 shots on frame. Rylan Whan has logged the entire 827:40 minutes in goal for Centenary. Whan is first in the conference with 52 saves and second in save percentage with a 82.5-clip.

Centenary Season Stats

Dallas is 6-5 in the all-time series with the Gents. The Crusaders have prevailed in the previous three meetings including twice at home. At Crusader Field last season, graduated senior Colton Allen had the game-winning goal in a 1-0 final. Ciancone is the lone returner on this roster with a point that match on the assist. Schwarz was second on team with four shots and Ciancone and Stephen Gahan (Vancouver, Wa.) both had three. Gamueda made a save in the shutout.
